WORKS FOR

Renting GPU instances per minute for running AI models (e.g., deepseek-v3.2-exp, GLM 3.6), Training models on high-performance instances (e.g., H100 SXM) after identifying hardware bottlenecks

KEY INSIGHT

It's a cost-effective spot market for powerful GPUs, but requires technical skill to find and configure the right instance.

DOESN'T WORK FOR

Instances with CPU starvation issues requiring manual trial to find suitable hardware

WORKED

I will be running open models on vast.ai or so as those are now viable.

Now vast offers serverless per minute AI models so checking it for something like https: vast.ai model deepseek-v3.2-exp or even glm 3.6 basically every of these turns out to be $.30 cents minute or 18$ per hour.

WORKED

SXM: 702ms step - ~$37 (using vast.ai). I found a higher vCPU instance on Vast.ai which hit 700ms.
