I use almost plain old wireguard, hosting a wg-easy container that has a nice web gui wrapper that makes it easy with QR codes, no configuration files to create like just wireguard.

I have gave up on that part and instead started using Wireguard on my laptop + my phone and my router and just access it via plain HTTP + VPN. Advantage is that I don t need to worry about bugs in Redmine because it is not exposed to the internet itself at all.
