TriNet gave me firm pricing, had historical data on price increases, and gave me a contract stating they wouldn't rise above X%... The small price per employee per year for TriNet... was more than paid for in cheaper, better benefits and peace of mind.

You pay someone like Trinet. You wire them funds, they distribute to employees in all 50 states and handle payroll, taxation, etc. They act as the employer as record, show up on employee W2s, etc.

Never had to deal with that with the one-stop-shop PEOs. Yes, as an employer, you don't play the hefty admin fee you pay Trinet - but you just don't have access to better plans for your employees.
