MIXED

MCP burn a lot, CLI tools are easy , quicker and good ones don t even need any additional harness like skills etc, just prompt to suggest using them.

Hacker News • HackerNews • Use case: Used as part of the AI agent workflow, but noted for high token consumption.

WORKED

We got tired of context-switching between GitHub, scattered MCP registries, and IDE docs... So we built a remote MCP server... just add one line to your config and instantly discover any MCP server through conversation.

Product Hunt • ProductHunt • Use case: Searching for, evaluating, and configuring MCP servers inside their IDE without context-switching.

Includes what I stopped using (MCP servers, multi-agent teams, instruction files).

My success with LLMs has increased quite a bit since I stopped using MCP servers. MCP is expensive and doesn't make up for better instructions using lighter weight tools.
