This is the solution. This is how you build rapidly and bypass all of the long term maintenance issues that we always have to fix in every other codebase. It makes the hard things easy, it makes perfect sense and it’s FUN.

Elixir has the most readable stacktraces of any language I've used. It's easy to see that the issue is on line 4, and that it is a missing curly brace.

It's rock solid. In 3 years, I never had one downtime. The mental model just clicks for me. The syntax is really simple and the semantics are consistent.

Now that I've been programming in an immutable functional language for almost a decade (Elixir), I'm certain the meme was mostly born out of unfamiliarity than actual complexity.

The end result is that all business logic remains short and focussed on the happy path. The DX is out of this world.
