You can't have Slack because we have Teams. You can have Basecamp because the manager put a great case of why She couldn't do that on Teams.

On my wife's laptop, I've uninstalled MS AI 3 times. I'm just about to lose my mind.

No wonder applications like MS Teams takes 8-20 seconds to load (and that is sometimes being nice!) Considering the specs of my PC.. it should load incredibly fast.

Teams can't even be assed to use standard windows notifications!

For the same reason they use Teams over Zoom or Slack or other alternatives.

You're not gonna pay $10 per user per month for zoom or slack when you can have teams included in the bundle you're already paying, even if it's not quite as good.

Teams is much better suited for a company with 1000 staff and a tech department. Admin is massively overcomplicated.

I don't particularly like the software (and had many issues with it myself at my prior job) but MS Teams is not realistically _just_ a chat program that is easy to build.

Teams, which is certainly more popular than Slack, but I shudder to list it because its stability may actually be worse.

All of them wanted to use an instant chat: Teams... Literally, they asked the same exact questions, so they are obviously given a template.
Hacker News • HackerNews • Use case: Used by scammers for instant chat interviews in a fraudulent job scheme.
For Teams, as long as you use it for conferencing and chat (no file sharing or editing), you can replace it with Slack. MS throws everything and the kitchen sink in their ecosystem to fit every need even if sometimes at mediocre or crappy quality.

People tolerate inefficient tools because the alte... Regardless of how much time is wasted on Teams inefficiencies.

The children who write Teams cannot reliably deliver notifications on my mac without me restarting Teams every morning. It s now a maze of permissions and it silently fails with no error messages at all.

BTW Teams has moved away from Electron, before it did I had to advise people to use the browser app instead of the desktop for performance reasons.

I'd also recommend setting up check-in reminders for Microsoft Teams - people tend to pay more attention to chats than emails these days :)

It's great for meeting summaries in Teams. I can go back weeks later and review what was said. I use it in Jira to give me a summary of support tickets
