WORKED

I had initially plugged in Superglue s CLI for the use case above - creating Salesforce opps.

The theoretical party you are describing would probably be better served by simply avoiding Salesforce in favor of a next gen CRM that is both more cost effective and easier to customize.

FAILED

Salesforce is ugly. Their interface is clunky. The poor salesperson has to sit down, bring up the website, click on a bunch of buttons, and navigate through a bunch of forms. The worst day of high school math was probably more fun for them.

Flamin’ hubspot and salesforce wanted circa 2% of our ARR per year.

Hacker News • HackerNews • Use case: CRM (considered but too expensive)

We'll have to figure out a sales CRM sometime (Salesforce is sorta expensive, maybe Pipedrive?)

Hacker News • HackerNews • Use case: considered for sales CRM

Once they grow enough and becomes big (and successful), they all go to Salesforce. So, why not just start with it.

In enterprise, you have hubspot, salesforce and various other tools. Building a salesforce knock off does not make sense.

a few big players dominate the scene with crappy software and feature creep (i.e. Epic = Salesforce).

Salesforce was one of the alternatives, not due to it being technically superior, or even having a better UI, but because this customer... wanted to avoid in-house software development as much as possible.

Hacker News • HackerNews • Use case: Considered as an alternative CRM platform to avoid in-house development and leverage outsourcing ecosystem

find the original customer issue in salesforce, read through the whole exchange there. A two line comment could have spared me all that work.

The old saying nobody ever got fired choosing IBM can now just as easily be applied to VP of Sales picking Salesforce.

Hacker News • HackerNews • Use case: CRM platform chosen as a safe, turnkey solution for sales teams.

Experience integrating with various Marketing technologies and tools APIs (e.g., Hubspot, Google Analytics, Salesforce, etc).

We’ve studied (and, in my past life at Salesforce, helped build) some of them. What we keep hearing from IT teams is: - Integration tax: Each module still lives in its own data model.

Hacker News • HackerNews • Use case: Helped build AI features for incumbent SIS/LMS vendors

Brand loyalty there is way thinner and more fragile. Businesses don't pick tools to feel cool or exclusive. They pick what actually runs the operation better.

I have also worked a great deal on integrating various tools (...Salesforce...).

HubSpot, Salesforce, Stripe, Intercom all leave distinctive fingerprints in page source. Zero API calls, zero cost.

Most of my customers use a CRM -- Hubspot, Salesforce, etc. -- to manage the whole customer relationship process, which includes inbound and outbound email.

I suspect it could be a lower cost version of setting up Salesforce CPQ. However, you likely still want this process to be integrated into Salesforce at some point so you’ll have to do that separately still.

Hacker News • HackerNews • Use case: Implied as a potential higher-cost benchmark for configuring flexible legal documents in sales situations.

Same for Salesforce Commerce Cloud Demandware, where everything is more often integrated with Stripe Paypal directly and merchant never even see it.
