As we grew QuickBooks was less and less of a solution because of the issues we had with multi-user collaboration along with historical rollback change tracking... we started to outgrow QB.

A lot of their pain stems from the fact that QB is just bad at its job (and has been for a long time), trying to make okay double entry lemonade from QB's awful single entry lemons.

But even so, small business owners still spend hours on entry and categorization. It's enough that most community colleges teach QuickBooks courses.

Well QuickBooks is moving everything online and their backend stuff looks like it can run on Linux.

I would assume since we live in the future these have similar features to the ancient micros brand POS system we used and could integrate with quickbooks or better accounting software to run payroll and do these calculations.

QuickBooks is reasonably priced and extremely mature. It does what it does for reasons that you may not realize now, but you'll be extremely happy that it does them after a few months, like, the first time you need to file corporate income taxes.

The direct interface to double-entry bookkeeping may come a bit more naturally to a hacker than using QuickBooks.

If you use standard accounting software (like quickbooks) and just want them to deal with filing and paying the taxes, the bill will be small.

I'd rather be on Xero or QB which are industry standard. I could then work with experts who could help solve specific problems on an industry standard platform.

I've used both, but still hired an independent accountant to make sure I didn't totally ball things up. They aren't necessarily looking out for you the way a private accountant would.

That person will most often place orders via Purchase Order... and email it directly to the supplier- whose email contact is already setup in QB. The Purchase Order is critical for handling the payment of your invoice and for receiving items into inventory.
