Transcription
Solid transcription tool undermined by aggressive privacy-invasive defaults. The auto-email and uninvited meeting-join features have caused real problems for users in corporate and sensitive contexts. Good enough for internal meetings where everyone consents; risky for any external or sensitive use. No API is a dealbreaker for developers.
Privacy-sensitive meetings — Otter emails all attendees without permission, joins calls uninvited, and had documented GDPR compliance issues. 4-hour recording limit. No API for programmatic access. Accuracy issues with technical terms and background noise (~95% = 5 errors per 100 words).
