I tried to place an order... only to notice later that it was immediately cancelled to protect their systems... I was welcome to go through human verification, send my passport to some third party, wait three working days... it would never arrive in time.

Their webpage that is supposed to list your credit card charges with the matching order numbers is broken (lots of data missing - have reproduced and filed a bug report with their exec team which is still being worked on a month later).

Amazon SES is decent at $1/10K mails.
